About Dr.Praveen Jayakumar MDS
Dr.Praveen Jayakumar MDS is a conservative dentist and an endodontist, the root canal specialist . He has completed his under graduation in the Meenakshi Ammal Dental College , Chennai and has received his Bachelors Degree (BDS ) from The Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University ,Chennai in 2004 . His interest in the field of root canal treatment and smile makeovers, made him choose the speciality of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontia to perceive his masters (MDS) .He had a passion towards teaching and his belief that you “teach more to learn more” made him the lecturer in the institution where he did his under graduation . His one year of teaching experience as a lecturer gave him an extraordinary experience in his speciality and opportunities to guide numerous undergraduates .He completed his post graduation in Meenakshi Ammal Dental College , Chennai and received his masters degree from the Meenakshi University , Chennai in 2009 . He had won numerous Best paper and Best Poster awards at the state and national level namely “The overall best poster award” in the National conference of the 21st Federation of Operative dentistry of India &14th Indian Endodontic Society held in Mumbai , “The overall best paper award” in the scientific paper presentation category at the 24th Tamilnadu State Dental Conference , Kumbakonam, “The overall best paper award” in scientific paper presentation category in 25th Tamilnadu State Dental Conference , Erode . His special interest in esthetic treatment made him perform an esthetic management of a mesiodens, recommend an innovative technique for the same , perform and publish a case report of the same in a reputed national journal of the specialty , Journal of Conservative Dentistry , an official publication of the Federation of the Operative Dentistry of India . Following his post graduation he quenched his thirst for teaching by working as a senior lecturer in Faculty of Dentistry , Sri Ramachandra University , Chennai from 2009 . He had introduced and guided personally , an innovative system of a dissertation ( 1ST TIME IN INDIA ) to be done by and for the undergraduates . He had given numerous guest lectures in various undergraduate and postgraduate conferences at the state and the national level , namely the “EXAM FEVER” a guest lecture at the “ALL INDIA UNDERGRADUATE CONFERENCE 2011” and a guest lecture in the “FINISH LINE” a post graduate rapid review programme . He had been a part of the organising committee of numerous state level and national level conferences namely one of the SCIENTIFIC CONVENORS of the AIUGC , a national level conference for the undergraduates . Presently due to his time demand he is a full time practitioner available around the clock on an appointment basis in our centre . His areas of expertise include root canal treatment , post endodontic rehabilitations (crowns and bridges ), minimally invasive dentistry and preventive dentistry , his areas of special interest include esthetic treatments , smile design and full mouth rehabilitations.
